Pour Some Sugasm On Me (#148)

I participated in the Sugasm again this week, with my post Why do I do This? regarding sex blogging and this blog specifically. Reading back over it, though, it makes me realize how jumbled what I wrote was, ad how much I feel I still need to clarify on it… but that’s another post. The posts this week (as with most weeks) are phenomenal, and I highly encourage you to check them out!

Review: Ella by LELO

If this already hasn’t become apparent to you, then you probably have not read my other reviews of Lelo products because I rave about them every time I have the honor of reviewing one. This time it is no different. Although the first time I tried out the Ella I actually didn’t enjoy it, but that was because I was in a strange sexual headspace and not really enjoying anything at the time. It was obviously all in my head because the second and all further times playing with Ella I was in love.

Like all Lelo toys she comes in a gorgeous black box with a satin pouch, manual, and (one year) warranty information. Although unlike Iris and Nea (and most other Lelo toys) Ella is a dildo, so there’s nothing to plug in or charge up, Ella is ready to go immediately. She is made 100% out of silicone, is extremely sleek and classy, and comes in either black or white from EdenFantasys (I got the black).

Ella is currently the only dildo in the Lelo line, and is a double-ended dildo to boot. Her two ends look a bit like the Gigi and the Liv put end-to-end. I’m a bit of a size queen, though I appreciate small toys as well if they are well made, and Ella is a little smaller around than I thought she would be. She is only just over one inch in diameter (1 1/4″), but regardless I found them to be absolutely fantastic for g-spot stimulation, especially the end that is curved with the flat head (Gigi-like).

I tried Ella a few different ways: thrusting inside of me, working inside of me, and with a vibe on my clit. Of course (clit whore as I am) I got off with a vibe on my clit, I used both the Hitachi and Nea and enjoyed each combination. The femme accessorizer in me enjoyed having the black Ella and black Nea working together (though I would have loved a black Lily instead, because the finish matches the Ella better than the Nea’s finish, but that’s just my OCD talking). Thrusting with both ends was highly pleasurable and Ella seemed larger when she was inside of me, I’m not sure why. Working it inside of me was pleasurable as well (by “working” I mean very slight thrusting, basically). Both ends make a wonderful handle for the other so the toy is extremely easy to maneuver.

Like all Lelo toys Ella was just absolutely fantastic, and looks more like a work of art than a dildo (“pleasure object” as Lelo calls all of their items). It is sleek, fem(me)inine, elegant, and gorgeous. I am constantly amazed with the pleasure objects Lelo produces and I can’t wait to get my hands on more of their toys! I’m especially lusting over their newest toy Bo, which I just discovered today, though I could list all of the toys that I don’t have as ones that I want.

NYC Sex Bloggers Calendar

So it may be my week for PSA’s, and I’m okay with that since I’m all busy with family things up here in Washington. I had the idea not too long ago of taking some of my wonderful blogger friends and starting a burlesque group. It makes me sad that we’re all in different parts of the country, but there are tons of sex bloggers in NYC who are getting together to do something super awesome!

From the website:

“How cool would it be to do a blogger calendar and sell it to benefit a good cause,” was the little thought that blossomed. Everyone I asked couldn’t wait to participate or assist with time, suggestions, money and all manner of support.

In the end, twelve of NYC’s most dynamic literary and sex positive women -writers, sex educators, film makers, and ordinary women – joined together in order to support Audacia Ray’s Sex Work Awareness Project. We are some of the New York area’s best and brightest, and we want to see the stigma associated with sex work and workers removed. […] The poses will be fun and flirty and burlesque themed, with no graphic nudity. Think costumes, corsets, pasties and g-strings.

So, you’re probably wondering which sex bloggers are involved in this. I know I was! The sexy burlesquy sex bloggers participating are:
Audacia Ray
Desiree
Diva
Elizabeth Wood
Jamye Waxman
Lux Alptraum
Mariella
Rachel Kramer Bussel
Riese
Sinclair Sexsmith
Tess Danesi
Twanna A Hines

Also, you can buy a day in the calendar, which means there are 365 days which can be written-in. You can buy a calendar and a day for $30, which isn’t bad, and get up to 80 characters on your day of choice. Promote your blog, your birthday, a friend/lover’s birthday, or something else entirely. Go to sexbloggercalendar.wordpress.com for information on how to buy a day and calendar, and any further information!

Baby Dyke (HNT)

My card reader is still broken… I really must get another one of those! Hopefully I’ll get one tomorrow while I’m in Seattle. Since I’m leaving for Seattle, I thought I’d post this HNT of me in Seattle. This is also a long time ago, 2002, I think? All young and fresh, hence “baby dyke.” This is kind of a perfect example of my femme fagette boi blend, short hair, no make-up, a little butched up but with a corset on. I was a gender genious six years ago and didn’t know it! I’ve gotten away from my butch-ness in recent years and it’s something that is slowly coming back to me. I’ve been reconnecting with my gender map, or the road to my current orbits in the gender galaxy, and so it’s also fitting that this be the image today.

I have many posts in the works, and many toys and books to review for you all, and I have some posts automatically set to post over this weekend. I’ll be in the Seattle area until the 22nd, and then up to my home town in Alaska to see the other side of my family and my friends that are still up there. I’m hoping to have internet access most of the days, but we shall see. There’s also lots going on, so I don’t know how much time I’ll have. I’ll be back on the 1st of October, but I’m hoping posts won’t be too sporadic (does that word make anyone else think of Clueless… just me? Okay.)

So, fear not. I will have, hopefully, a new picture of me not an old one in a week, and I will still be posting, though just from a different time zone!

Dacia's Love Machine

Apparently it’s my day for PSA’s (since I haven’t gone to bed yet, I’m counting this with the Bitch post).

I adore Audacia Ray and all of her projects, especially Live Girl Review which I think is absolutely brilliant! I plan to read her book at some point (and review it on here, of course), and pretty much soak up anything she might put out. She has just come out with a new short film called Dacia’s Love Machine where she has documented her selling of a Love Machine (no, really, that’s the real name of it), which is essentially a fucking machine. You can buy the film on her website for it, it’s just 25 minutes long and only $2.99, which isn’t a lot to pay for a real story about crazy people and a fucking machine… I mean, who wouldn’t want to see that?

Since it’s late, I’ll let the back of the “box cover” tell you a bit about it:

Also, the first twenty five people who buy the download get a free sex toy courtesy of EdenFantasys – you have your choice between a pocket rocket and a masturbation sleeve. Even though this just came out last night I’d be surprised if 25 people hadn’t bought it already, so you may have missed your chance on that one.

There’s also a rather hilarious clip of the movie on the main info page which I highly recommend that you check out, even if you don’t plan on paying the whopping $2.99 for the movie.

Bitch Needs Your Help

I remember reading my mom’s copies Bitch magazine years ago while I was still living at home. I began reading it at a point in my life where my feminist nature was already deeply ingrained in me, although I wasn’t consciously aware of it. I don’t remember the year, but I do remember reading issue after issue, each one wonderful and eye-opening. I have never been subscribed to Bitch, although I don’t really know why, but there is usually an issue or two lying around mom’s house when I go back to visit (which I shall be doing this time next week).

Bitch needs to raise $40,000 by October 15th in order to produce the next issue of Bitch. As I’m sure many of you know, the economy is dramatically declining, and print magazines are no longer as popular as they once were anyway, so the combination is not a good one. They are a “nonprofit, reader-funded media organization” so they heavily rely on donations to produce the magazine.

You can read more about their plight and watch a video about it on their website. Every little bit helps, even $5 or $10, hell even $1 is one dollar closer to $40,000. I’m planning on donating what I can, and I encourage you all to do the same!

Why do I do This?

I’ve been asking myself this question a lot lately, specifically regarding this blog, but also generally in my life. I’ve come to many answers, and I wanted to share the blog-related ones with you all. The questions I’m really asking are: what am I gaining from writing this blog and what am I trying to say with it in addition to why am I writing this.

This blog came from a resurgence of activity on my livejournal. I got to the point where I was posting two or three times a day about just about everything. I had it all tricked out, paid account and everything, with tons of information and personal insight. I started stepping off of livejournal and reading other blogs on blogger and domain-based blogs and such, and I realized that the community on livejournal wasn’t the right one for me to be in, I wanted to be in this blogging community.

I had loved the personal nature of livejournal, the ability to have friends-only or private posts, and I still retain my livejournal (though I don’t post in it as often as I’d like or as often as I used to, most of my energy is directed toward this site). I was heavily involved in the livejournal community, including moderating multiple groups and being involved in many others in addition to my own private blogging. I don’t remember what sparked it off, it was a spur-of-the-moment decision to buy ofpleasure.com (which turned into ofpleasure.com and now ofpleasure.com), and one which I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with.

A little back-story of my online history as well: I started my first website in 1996 on angelfire (yes, that’s right, angelfire–back when it didn’t have ads!) and have been online in various places ever since. I bought my first domain pretty far back as well, probably around 1998, but I’m not sure. I started a blog, started up my domain, got into a little community and started a fun group blog with some others around my age. I had a wicked crush on someone in my group blog, she was smart, butch, and older than me. I still think about her sometimes. I’m actually still in touch via-LJ with a couple of the other bloggers from that group blog so many years ago.

I’ve had various different domains, some of which I still own, some of which I do not, most of which have faded away with time, as online projects do. I have taken long periods of time away from the internet, mostly for school purposes but not only. I had a long break two years ago when I first moved to SLC and was getting everything sorted out here as well as crazybusy with school and the like. Most of these years I was also on IRC as well, and on my Livejournal (which I’ve had since 2000), and Diaryland for a brief time, and various other sites.

I mention all this to highlight that I’m not new to blogging or to analyzing my life through writing, and that brings me to my first answer to this question. The reason I started this blog was to create a more focused environment for me to explore and analyze my relationship with Dominus Onyx. I started it at a time where we were having a lot of issues, and it seemed bigger than livejournal as well. It was my place to get out ideas and feelings about our relationship, where he could read them too because I can express myself through writing much more easily than I can through regular conversation.

The other big reason for starting this, as I mentioned earlier, was the community factor. I felt like starting this blog was entering into a whole different community, one I embrace wholly and which I feel embraced by. I have made some amazing friends through my explorations of sex, gender, poly, relationships, etc. most of whom I’ve never met face-to-face, but I hope to someday.

I think this answers the questions stated above (what am I gaining from writing this blog, what am I trying to say with it, and why am I writing it), but that’s not all. As you may have noticed, if you’ve been reading for a long or short time, my identities have been changing dramatically since I started this blog. This blog is not only for relationship exploration and community acceptance but it’s also for exploring all sides of myself in a free environment, though I still post the extremely personal stuff in LiveJournal on occasion.

When I started this blog I had just started calling my submission style “cuntpet,” before that I had embraced slave and slavehood. My mastheads have had this progression:

  • “The ramblings of a sex-positive femme queer poly feminist fucktoy cuntpet”
  • “The Feminist Fucktoy – The musings of a sex-positive femme queer poly 24/7 submissive cuntpet”
  • “The Femmeinist Fucktoy – The musings of a sex-positive fat femme queer poly 24/7 submissive cuntpet”
  • “The Femmeinist Fucktoy – The speculations and escapades of a sex-positive fat femme queer poly kinky switch (24/7 cuntpet and Domina)”
  • “The Femmeinist Fucktoy – The speculations and escapades of a sex-positive fat femme queer poly kinky switch (cuntpet and Domina)”

I’ve been toying with the idea of adding “fagette” or “boi” into the mix of identities, but I haven’t found a good place for them yet. Perhaps you will see it in the future.

The point of going through these is to show how my identity has changed over the months I’ve been writing this blog. Although the first post is technically from 15 August 2007, I didn’t start this incarnation of the blog until 25 February 2008, that’s really not a long time for these changes to be occurring. While some of the main identities I’ve had for years have been constant (sex-positive, femme, queer, poly, feminist) there are new ones like “fat,” a word I used to detest, and switch, cuntpet, and Domina. Although I’ve been exploring BDSM and specifically my submission for about ten years cuntpet is still a new identity, the identity this blog was based around.

Now, why am I sharing all this? First, it’s something that has been on my mind a lot lately. How did I start writing this blog? Why I started to write about sex, sexuality, relationships. and gender specifically, simply to explore my own interactions with each and my thoughts on the subjects. I know from some of the feedback I have gotten that I am making others think, helping others in discovering their own identities, or simply discovering someone that is similar to them or thinks in a similar way.

That’s another of my reasons for writing this blog, because I believe individual stories are powerful and getting to know individuals is important. I started this as much to get to know you as for you to get to know me. I want to share my own discoveries and views of the world and see who echos those views back to me, and hope that I may help inspire others toward their own discoveries.

Review: Iris by LELO

If you read my review of Lelo’s tiny Nea vibrator then you already know that LELO (Luxury Erotic Lifestyle Objects) is my new favorite toy company. When I had the chance to pick out some new toys from VibeReview, Lelo’s “pleasure object” Iris was right at the top of my list.

Iris comes in a beautiful black storage box with a charger (like all Lelo toys Iris is rechargeable–no pesky batteries to mess with), a satin pouch for traveling, warranty information (Lelo gives a one year warranty standard with all of their toys), and an instruction manual. The manual informs us that Iris is made of medical-grade silicone (the insertable shaft), and PC-ABS (the handle), both of which are non-porous and some of the highest quality material for sex toys on the market.

Like all Lelo vibrating toys, Iris has a LED strip around her interface dial that lights up when you press any of the four “quadrants” of the dial (+ or – vibration, and < or > vibration type). The manual mentioned that Iris will change color from white to red if the rechargeable battery is running out, alerting you to plug her in, blinking while she’s charging and then solid white when she’s charged up and ready to go. It takes up to three hours to charge her up for a full four hours of play. Other information in the manual includes how to turn Iris on, how to lock for traveling with Iris (a standard feature), troubleshooting, and the different types of vibration Iris offers.

Not only is Iris beautiful like all Lelo toys, the details on her shaft reminding me of the bud of a flower getting ready to bloom, but she also packs a pretty hefty punch. She has two different vibration centers, in the crown (or tip) and in the base (where she meets the handle), which you can set with continuous vibration in one or the other, or both. The other two vibration options are pulses either a slow or quick pulsation of the entire length of her. Personally I love using just the crown vibration for clitoral stimulation, which it does quite a wonderful job at!

Iris is curved just right for g-spot stimulation, be it shallow or deep, so she’s good for both thrusting and just pressing inside and letting her pulse as you play with something else on your clit (my favorite way to use her). She is also curved nicely for clitoral stimulation, as Iris curves right along the mons allowing for ease of maneuvering. I did find it a little too easy to press on the dial when in the middle of masturbating, which was annoying but not overly so.

Like I’ve said before, “there’s just no substitute for the quality of pleasure Lelo’s pleasure objects bring.” They are well-made, beautiful, elegant, and inform you of all the information you might need about the toy in the manual (including troubleshooting and recycling instructions!). I absolutely love the Iris, though it hasn’t quite outranked the Nea, it definitely comes close. I would highly recommend Iris to anyone who especially enjoys high-quality g-spot stimulating toys as well as works of art.

Project LifeSize

Found here via Feministing. Above is the casting call (which ended at the end of July) and currently Project LifeSize has 13 videos (not counting the casting call), all of which I have watched. It is a wonderful display of real women sharing about their lives and experiences, and those of you who enjoy people or getting to know others online (which, I would assume, would be most of you) then I think you will enjoy it.

It has great potential, and is only in the second week of video productions, so you don’t have too many videos to catch up on. Here is a little info right from their YouTube channel page

…What is the point of Project Lifesize?…
When I was younger I didn’t have anyone in my corner telling me that I was beautiful, regardless of what the media or my peers told me. I wanted to create a dialogue about not just weight acceptance, but acceptance in general.

..Why aren’t there guys?…
Well, there were quite a few submissions to the casting call. If I could have had everyone on the channel I would have. We are open to brother or sister channels to join us.

……Why did you put out a call for only “beautiful and sexy” girls?…
I didn’t mean to infer that I was looking for only the “pretty” girls. I think that beautiful and sexy can be applied to all women and I don’t find physical beauty a necessity to meet those requirements. The girls on the channel were not chosen because they met a certain ideal of beauty. Their inner beauty jumped off the screen.
We can’t speak for everyone who has felt overlooked or unworthy of love and respect.
We can only hope you are moved enough to use your own voice.

So, go check out Project LifeSize! (P.S. I totally have a crush on one of the girls… not telling which. Can you guess?)
